Not worth keeping

Nasruddin was walking along the road when he saw something shining in the distance, a glittering in the gutter. He picked up a dusty, broken-framed mirror, and immediately upon cleaning off the glass and glancing at the image, he dropped it like a burning ember.

“Ugh! What a horrible portrait,” Nasruddin reflected as he retreated down the road. “No wonder it was thrown away — something so ugly couldn’t hold anybody’s appeal. I should have realized beforehand that something ditched like that disgusting object in the sewer would not possibly be worth keeping.”
