Sharing the Sweetness
Nasruddin and his friend Abdul were visiting a nearby town together when they became thirsty. They stopped at a café and found they could afford only a single glass of milk, which they ordered.
“You go ahead and drink your share first,” said Abdul. “Let me drink my part with this packet of sugar.”
“Why not add it now? I will drink only my half.”
“Certainly not, Nasruddin! There is only enough sugar to sweeten half a glass of milk!”
Nasruddin went to the café owner and returned with a saltshaker. “Fine,” he said, “I’ll drink my half first. But then you won’t mind if I flavor mine with salt, will you?”
